Mitchey Greig
Anyone that knows Mitchey will tell you, Mitchey Greig is unique...
![]() a true Queenstown local from birth she has grown up in the Wakitipu while it has grown up around her. Skiing was her first and primary passion for many years, culminating in a world cup skier cross career and a place at the Vancouver Olympics in 2010. After nearly 20 winters in a row chasing the snow and competition scene in the northern hemisphere Mitchey has come home for a summer. And low and behold the biking bug has bit her... and how! Transferring her natural athleticism and talent from competitive skiing she is already burning down the gnarliest trails in the Queenstown Bike Park, prompting friends to urge her gently to get some body armor... ![]() With her newly ignited passion for biking and her close connection with Pinewood Lodge (Rob and Roz, Mitchey's parents, started the place, and raised her on site!) it was a natural idea to take her vibrant energy and infuse it into a biking project. "We want Pinewood to be a fun place where mountain bikers can come hang out and soak in some of the local biking culture." No doubt it will be that with her passion and enthusiasm making it happen. Pop round to The Hub at Pinewood for a ride or a BBQ one summer afternoon and say hi and join in the fun. |
